This is Our Story.
And You're a Part of It.
This isn’t just what we do; it’s the story of how we got here. Discover the challenges, the triumphs, and the lives changed through our journey in agriculture, education, and community empowerment. See how a simple idea grew into a movement.
From a Simple Need to a Movement
It started in 2020. The world was changing, and the need for affordable, culturally appropriate food for Alberta’s Black community—especially newcomers—was growing. We recognized the gap. Immigrants faced barriers to accessing the familiar, quality foods that make a place feel like home. So, we committed ourselves to bridging that gap.
"Every contribution, no matter how small, plants a seed for a better tomorrow."
Today, we support new immigrants with settlement resources, provide baby items for new mothers, and create a network of belonging that helps families plant strong roots in their new soil.
Our Mission
To empower Canada’s Black community by ensuring access to affordable, quality food through sustainable farming initiatives, supporting new immigrants in their journey toward integration, and assisting families with newborns by providing essential baby items. We strive to build a strong, self-sufficient, and inclusive community that thrives together.
Our Vision
A thriving Black community in Canada where everyone has equitable access to nutritious food, supportive resources, and a welcoming environment. We envision a future where all community members, especially new immigrants and young families, can flourish, connect, and contribute to a sustainable, inclusive society.
